About Ghogha :

Shri Digamber Jain Atishaya Kshetra Ghogha is situated in ancient city of Ghogha at the bank of Bay of Khambhat in Gujarat State. After seeing the broken fragments here, it seems that some time Ghogha would be a centre of business and a prosperous city. At some time 1200 families of Jains were here and later on this number started decreasing. Many families of Bhavnagar belong to Ghogha.

Three ancient Dig. Jain temples are here with so many ancient idols installed. One idol among them is supposed to be more than 2500 years old. But relating to the art of sculpture it seems to be installed during 11th – 12th Century.

Temples are ancient but it seems that these were reconstructed in 15th – 16th Century because more of the idols here belong to 15th – 16th Century.

Atishaya:- The black color idol of 1008 Bhagwan Nemi Nath installed in Chopara Mandir is miraculous. Devotees found their desires fulfilled after prayers & worships with deep heart here. Many times at night the sound of bells is being heard coming from temples.

Main Temple & Idol :

Three Dig. Jain temples are here at Ghogha. First is called Chopra Mandir with principal deity Bhagwan Chandra Prabhu (8th Teerthankar). The miraculous idol of Bhagwan Nemi Nath is also installed here, that is very beautiful & attractive.

In this temple a beautiful metallic Sahastra Koot Chaityalaya (1000 idols carved on it) installed in V.S. 1611 is also agreeable, this is 42 inch in height & 23 inch in width. The idol of principal deity Bhagwan Adinath is miraculous, black in color, 2 feet in height, in Padmasana posture installed in V.S. 1679.
