आध्यात्मिकता क्या है? आज के चरम भौतिकवादी युग में जहां व्यक्ति भौतिक इन्द्रिय सुखों की सामग्री के संकलन हेतु अहर्निश आकुलित है वहां यह प्रश्न भी विश्व के विभिन्न भागों में उठता रहता है कि क्या इस आकुलता पूर्ण अंधी दौड़ का कहीं अन्त भी है ? क्या शाश्वत वास्तविक सुख-शांति का कहीं अस्तित्व भी है ? यदि अस्तित्व है तो उसे किस प्रकार अर्जित किया जा सकता है? और इसी क्रम में बार बार अध्यात्म अथवा आध्यात्मिकता जैसे शब्द वायुमण्डल में गूंजते रहते हैं। अनेकानेक चितकों व दार्शनिकों ने अध्यात्म या आध्यात्मिकता की अपने-अपने प्रकार से व्याख्या की है लेकिन यह जानना समझना फिर भी शेष रह जाता है कि वास्तव में अध्यात्म क्या है, आध्यात्मिकता का प्रवेश जीवन में किस प्रकार हो सकता है कि जिससे यथार्थ आत्मिक सुख व शांति जीवन में प्रगट हो सके। अध्यात्म की परिभाषा व अर्थ :- अध्यात्म शब्द अधि+आत्म दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है। अधि का अर्थ निकट होना एवं जानना भी होता है। इस प्रकार अध्यात्म का अर्थ हुआ आत्मा के निकटवर्ती होना अथवा आत्मा को जानना। हम यह कह सकते हैं कि अध्यात्म से तात्पर्य आत्मा के निकटवर्ती होकर उसका सम्यक प्रकार से परिज्ञान ही है। इसी से यह भी स्पष्ट हो जाता है कि आध्यात्मिकता एक ऐसी स्थिति है, प्रवृत्ति है जिसमें...
